San Francisco, CA – Wrong-Way Crash on I-80 W/Harrison St. Causes Injuries

San Francisco, CA (September 20, 2025) – A serious wrong-way crash occurred on Interstate 80 West near the Harrison Street off-ramp early Saturday morning, September 20. The California Highway Patrol reported the collision around 7:16 a.m., involving a semi-truck and a black sedan that was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes. Emergency crews, including San Francisco Fire and ambulance units, responded to assist at the scene.

At least one person sustained injuries and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for medical treatment. Tow services were called for both vehicles, and traffic was heavily impacted across the Bay Bridge during the morning rush.

CHP continues to investigate the wrong-way driver’s actions that led to the crash. We hope the injured individuals make a rapid recovery.
