Oakland, CA (October 5, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision on Interstate 80 East near the Ashby Avenue off-ramp left at least one person severely injured on October 5. The crash was reported around 5:07 p.m., prompting an immediate response from the California Highway Patrol.
Upon arrival, officers found a black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and another vehicle blocking the number 4 lane, restricting traffic and creating hazards for approaching drivers. Firefighters and paramedics provided on-site aid before transporting one injured party to a nearby hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
According to initial reports, one of the involved drivers may have followed the other off the freeway after the collision, suggesting a potential hit-and-run scenario under investigation.
