Newton, IA (September 18, 2025) – A semi-truck crash on westbound I-80 near the Iowa Speedway on Thursday, September 18, temporarily blocked traffic. The Iowa Department of Transportation reported that all lanes reopened by 7:30 a.m.

The crash occurred between mile markers 169 and 170, prompting a detour for westbound drivers. Motorists were advised to exit at Exit 173, travel north on County Road T24, turn left onto Highway 6, and then turn left onto Iowa Speedway Drive.
