Elmwood Park, NJ (October 14, 2025) – A jackknifed tractor-trailer caused significant traffic delays on Monday, October 13, on Interstate 80 in Bergen County, according to local authorities.
The crash was reported shortly after 9 a.m. near Exit 61, east of River Road in Elmwood Park. Video footage from the scene showed the semi-truck positioned across the median, blocking portions of both the eastbound and westbound lanes after apparently striking a concrete divider.
Police closed the left lanes in both directions while crews worked to remove the vehicle and clear debris from the roadway. No injuries were reported in the incident, though the crash caused significant slowdowns during the morning commute.
Elmwood Park police referred further inquiries to the New Jersey State Police, who are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
