Pocono Twp., PA – 1 Killed in Rear-End Crash on I-80 W near MM 296

Pocono Township, PA (October 11, 2025) – A fatal crash on Interstate 80 in Monroe County on Friday, October 10, claimed the life of one driver, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near mile marker 296 on I-80 West. Authorities reported that a car traveling in the center lane slowed due to traffic from an earlier crash ahead. Another vehicle behind it was unable to stop in time and struck the slowing car.

The driver of the rear vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The Monroe County Coroner’s Office, led by Tom Yanac, is investigating the cause and manner of death. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
