Henry County, IL – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck on I-80 WB Near Milepost 18

Henry County, IL (October 16, 2025) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Thursday morning, October 16, on westbound I-80 near milepost 18 in Henry County, according to the Illinois State Police (ISP).

Troopers from ISP Troop 2 responded around 12:15 a.m. after reports of a pedestrian being struck on the highway. Upon arrival, authorities located the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The individual’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 2 is leading the investigation and seeking public assistance. Investigators are asking any drivers who were in the area of I-80 near milepost 18 between 12:00 a.m. and 12:15 a.m. on Thursday to come forward. Those with dash camera footage or who witnessed the incident are urged to contact ISP Special Agents at (309) 752-4915 ext. 4937.
