
Adair, IA – 20-Year-Old Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on I-80 WB Exit 75 Ramp


Adair, IA (October 16, 2025) – A young man from Adair lost his life early Thursday morning, October 16, following a motorcycle crash on the westbound I-80 exit 75 off-ramp, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly before 1 a.m. when the motorcyclist, identified as 20-year-old Devon Michael Ernst, reportedly entered the off-ramp too fast, lost control, and veered off the roadway. The motorcycle struck a culvert, ejecting Ernst.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Ernst was tragically pronounced dead. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a helmet or protective gear at the time of the crash.
The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate the incident. No other vehicles were involved.
