W Sacramento, CA – Injury Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-80/Reed Ave. off-ramp

West Sacramento, CA (September 8, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a water truck took place on Monday morning, September 8, on westbound Interstate 80 near the Reed Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). CHP dispatch logs indicate the collision occurred around 4:44 a.m. after a water truck struck several vehicles.

It remains unclear what triggered the crash or how many individuals were injured, though at least one person required medical evaluation at the scene. Crews worked to assess injuries, with those hurt transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The crash created heavy delays during the early morning commute as lanes were partially blocked by the damaged vehicles.

Tow trucks were later called to remove debris and restore the flow of traffic. CHP officers are investigating the cause of the incident.
