Richmond, CA – 2 Injured in Crash on I-80 W at Barrett Ave

Richmond, CA (August 19, 2025) – Two people were injured Monday morning, August 18,  following a collision on Interstate 80 West near Barrett Avenue in Richmond.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:40 a.m. and involved a black Jeep Cherokee that collided with another vehicle. The Jeep came to rest blocking the middle lanes of the highway. Multiple lanes were shut down while emergency crews responded.

Richmond Fire Department and EMS arrived at the scene, and paramedics transported two people who had neck injuries to a local hospital. Certified towing was requested to clear the vehicles from the roadway. By approximately noon, lanes began reopening, and all lanes were confirmed clear by noon.
