Omaha, NE – I-80 Scene of Injury Wreck near 84th St

Omaha, NE (August 10, 2025) – A serious collision on eastbound Interstate 80 near 84th Street on Friday afternoon, August 8, left a 24-year-old motorcyclist critically injured after crashing into the rear of a semi-trailer.

The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. when the motorcyclist, reportedly traveling at approximately 70 mph, struck the back of the truck and was dragged beneath it for about 100 feet.

Emergency crews from the Omaha Fire Department, including units E30 and M61, quickly arrived on the scene and administered urgent medical care. The rider sustained severe bleeding from his buttocks and arm injuries caused by extensive road rash. He was rushed under Code 3 trauma status to Bergan Mercy Hospital for immediate treatment.

Authorities closed sections of the interstate as investigators worked to document the scene, gather witness statements, and reconstruct the events that led to the collision.
