Davis, CA – Eight-Car Accident Ends in Injuries on I-80 near Mace Blvd
Davis, CA (July 19, 2025) – A serious chain-reaction crash involving eight vehicles caused injuries and major delays on eastbound Interstate 80 near Mace Boulevard on July 17, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m., stretching across multiple lanes and forcing authorities to shut down the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes for emergency operations. Firefighters and CHP officers responded promptly to provide medical aid and manage the chaotic scene.
A Dodge Ram was among the vehicles heavily damaged in the collision and had to be towed away. At least two additional vehicles also required towing, highlighting the intensity of the pileup. Fire crews from the City of Davis worked to evaluate and care for several individuals who suffered minor injuries, though officials have not released an exact injury count.
Cleanup efforts took considerable time as crews worked to clear debris and restore safe driving conditions. The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by CHP.
