Allamuchy Twp., NJ – I-80 Car Accident Ends in Injuries

Allamuchy Township, NJ (July 12, 2025) — A serious multi-lane collision on Interstate 80 westbound brought traffic to a crawl Thursday afternoon as emergency crews rushed to the scene just east of the Allamuchy Rest Area.

The crash was reported on July 10, around 3:52 p.m., and involved multiple vehicles, prompting a swift response from firefighters, medics, and law enforcement. At least one individual suffered injuries and required immediate medical attention at the scene. Authorities temporarily shut down both the left and right travel lanes, along with the right shoulder, limiting traffic flow to just two of the highway’s four lanes.

The wreck unfolded along a busy section of I-80 frequently used by commuters and truck traffic alike. The resulting congestion caused major delays as first responders worked to treat the injured, investigate the circumstances, and clear the wreckage from the roadway.
